50th Annual Course in Cytometry — June 19–24, 2027

A Golden Anniversary

In 2027 the Annual Course in Cytometry reaches its 50th offering. From its beginnings at the University of Rochester in 1978, through homes at Los Alamos National Flow Cytometry Resource, Philadelphia, Bowdoin College, the University of New Mexico, San Diego, and Madison, the course has brought instructors and students together every summer for a week of lectures, hands-on labs, and community — interrupted only by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 50th Annual Course returns to Madison, hosted by the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center Flow Cytometry Laboratory, June 19–24, 2027. As in past years, the week will feature roughly 20 lectures and a pick-a-lab format drawing on 10–15 hands-on offerings, an evening keynote, vendor night, and the informal mentoring that has always been the heart of the course. We are planning additional programming to mark the milestone, including a look back across five decades of cytometry education.

Alumni & Sponsors

Fifty courses have produced a large community of alumni, instructors, and supporting vendors. If you attended or taught at a past course and have photos, booklets, or memories to share for the anniversary, we would love to hear from you — and see the gallery for what has been collected so far.

Organizations interested in sponsoring the 50th Annual Course are invited to get in touch.
